Rachel Mutrux has worked in telehealth since 2002. In her current role as Director of the Missouri Telehealth Network & Show-Me ECHO, Rachel is responsible for leading the organizational priorities, representing telehealth to stakeholders, and overseeing MTN budgets and grants.
Rachel is active in the national telehealth affiliation groups and presents locally, regionally and nationally on MTN projects such as Rural Citizen’s Access to Telehealth, Heartland Telehealth Resource Center (HTRC) and Show-Me ECHO.

Dixon, Desiree, BS, MS

Desiree Dixon is currently in her last semester of the Human Development and Family Sciences M.S. program at the University of Central Missouri. She previously has presented at the 2024 Spring Training Institute alongside Dr. Tim Welch and Dr. Joyce Chang. Along with assisting in research projects at the UCM, Desiree is also a proud McNair Scholar alumnus where she completed an original mixed methods project entitled Young Adults Perceptions of Intimate Relationships and Family Units in Correlation with ACE Scores. Currently, Desiree is a student/new professional board member of the Advancing Family Science Section at the National Council of Family Relations and has spoken at several other research symposiums and event

Gargis, Heather, MA, LPC, SEP

Heather Gargis is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, EMDR-trained, NeuroAffective Touch therapist, and a Safe & Sound Protocol provider. As a somatic trauma therapist with a focus on working directly with the nervous system, Heather helps clients build capacity for regulation, resilience, and healing from trauma. She has been in private practice since 2019 and is dedicated to addressing complex trauma, childhood abuse and neglect, attachment wounds, dissociation, chronic pain and syndromes, and sexual abuse. She equips clients with practical tools to track their internal sensations, process overwhelming experiences, and develop a sense of safety and empowerment in their daily lives.
 
Heather is passionate about the transformative power of somatics and its ability to support lifelong healing through mind-body integration. She brings warmth, trust, and an inviting curiosity to her work, offering clients a path to shift from surviving to thriving.
Beyond the therapy room, Heather enjoys tennis, conducting research, and playing her banjolele.

Center for Behavioral Medicine (CBM), formerly Western Missouri Mental Health Center, is an agency for the Department of Mental Health. CBM is  located on Hospital Hill in the heart of Kansas City and provides comprehensive psychiatric care to patients from Kansas City as well as the 54 counties in the Western side of the State.  CBM operates as one of the major training sites for the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Department of Psychiatry, fulfilling academic and research needs. Additionally, students, residents, and post-doctoral fellows are trained at CBM to deliver integrated physical and behavioral health care.

The Center focuses its services on bridging the gap between physical and behavioral medicine with an emphasis on wellness. The Center provides a therapeutic approach to recovery that assists individuals to progress regardless of their limitations or symptoms by utilizing evidence based diagnostic and therapeutic modalities in a holistic approach to patient treatment.

Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center (NMPRC) is a 108-bed psychiatric hospital that provides inpatient care for adults.

The new campus was completed and occupied in July of 1997. It replaced the old St. Joseph State Hospital directly across the street, which had housed the hospital since 1874. The old campus is now a Department of Corrections facility.

Sohl, Kristin, MD, FAAP

Dr. Kristin Sohl, MD, FAAP is a Professor of Clinical Child Health at the University of Missouri, Executive Director of ECHO Autism and Scientific Advisor for the National Institutes of Neurologic Disorders and Stroke, and Medical Director for MU Missouri Telehealth Network and the MU Office of Continuing Medical Education. She is a pediatrician with extensive experience in medical diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of children with a concern of autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Dr. Sohl is regarded as an expert in quality and process improvement particularly for comprehensive autism diagnostic and longitudinal services. She is the founder of ECHO Autism, an innovative framework to increase community capacity to care for children with autism. It is viewed as a national model in expanding autism diagnosis and treatment to underserved and rural populations. The ECHO Autism team has established partnerships with other children’s hospitals and autism centers in more than 40 locations in the United States and 15 international locations. Dr. Sohl is a tireless advocate for children and enjoys engaging other physicians in being a voice for children’s health. She is the President of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Missouri Chapter. She completed medical school and pediatric residency at the University of Missouri.
